Green Marathon 2011 [ Back ]

Kathmandu, September 16, 2011: Celebrating five successful years of service to the Nation, CEDB through its CSR campaign – ‘The Clean Circle’, held the ‘Green Marathon 2011’ on the Preservation of the Ozone layer day by gifting 10,000 trees to stakeholders from its 3 branches and 12 other locations within the Valley.

Inaugurating the event, National Planning Commission’s Vice President, Mr. Dipendra Bahadur Kshetry said, “We appreciate that CEDB, since its establishment, has always aspired to incorporate green business practices in developing Nepal through clean energy. This responsibility is especially important in the present context of climate change and ozone layer degradation – today’s occasion is an instance for all of us to act together. ”


In its efforts to replace trees that have been lost in the community, CEDB stated that these 10,000 trees are expected boost the quality of clean air by soaking up pollution and dust from the air, rebuild natural ecosystems, in addition to mitigating the effects of global warming by facilitating the preservation of the ozone layer from atmospheric carbon.
