Gifting Brightness 2012 [ Back ]
Kathmandu, July 08, 2012: In view of continuing with the expansion of its Gifting Brightness program yet again, Clean Energy Development Bank (CEDB) once again, joined hands with the Ultra Group, to empower the deprived segments of society with clean and renewable energy for their essential lighting needs - as a part of its larger CSR movement, the “Clean Circle” - to realize an eco- friendly Nepal.
This program was realized in Kathmandu and Lalitpur by contributing solar PV home lighting systems to fulfill the vital lighting requirements of a children home known as Spark Children Home as well an orphanage known as Nepal Human Service Organization. Spark Children Home located at Pulchowk, houses, educates and cares for 15 children aged 6 to 12 consisting of poor, helpless and insurgency victims; while Nepal Human Service Organization situated at Manmaiju, Ward No: 5 looks after 15 children including one disabled child, in addition to educating them.
Both CEDB and Ultra, through this program look to not only helping the underprivileged in countering the ongoing power crisis in Nepal but also creating the much needed awareness in the community on the advantages of employing greener technologies. In alignment with its objectives, CEDB is now looking to expand this program in anticipation of supporting additional disadvantages groups in the future.
